Attempted Simswap after ****** phone turned into nightmare with MTN

Extremely frustrating and infuriating experience with MTN/Mondo. I regret the day I even answered their call and accepted an upgrade.

My cellphone was ****** soon after the sim-only upgrade was processed. It took more than 2 days before I got access to the correct number to call for assistance via the in store mtn consultants. This was after they claimed that they had done my simswap and after 24hrs I was still disconnected from the network. It's taken more than 5 days just to get MTN/mondo to send over my temporary contact details so that they can deliver the sim which will apparently hold my old number; the one I wanted via the simswap.

Apparently the in-store MTN operations are completely separate from the online MTN operations therefore the in-store consultants are rendered useless and essentially I have to fight this battle on my own !?

All I needed was a simswap. It's been over a week. I've missed important calls and am unable to access important apps on my phone because it requires verification from my previous number.

I really am struggling to understand why it's so difficult for MTN/mondo to provide the correct contact details so my product can be delivered. Every time I call in to the delivery company DSV, they've been calling my old number, the one that was ******, and thus the delivery is cancelled. They'll only accept an email verification from MTN that my contact details for delivery have changed. Furthermore I was told that the turnover period for emails from MTN/Mondo to DSV is 24hrs? After which, my situation still wasn't resolved. Really seems archaic to me.

The situation is going round and round in circles and worsened by the fact that I have to speak to a new person each time to re-explain. I can't get my old number via the in-store consultants and MTN is making it impossible for my simcard to be delivered so I'm stuck.

It's honestly unacceptable and I'm so fed up. I asked if I could cancel and I'm told that as the parcel is out for delivery (btw they haven't contacted me on the new number to verify that it's actually coming) I have to wait to reject it in person, thereafter it'll take 48hrs to cancel. So I can't even cancel because the simcard is perpetually never on its way to me. And they'll still waste two more days of my life.

Inconvenience doesn't even come close to what this is. It's absolute nonsense.
