Atrocious MTN service
MTN does not value their clients & threaten with LEGAL Action based on no grounds, due to lack of inter-departmental communication!?
I canceled my data contract (A*** / ***) on 4 February 2020 and paid settlement amount R155.00. No bill for March 2020 as it should be. Cool. From April 2020 to March June 2021 they debit my account OUT OF MANDATE! Got one reply from Customer Service department, following e-mail request for response, from Angela Mann on 19 May 2020, stating retentions would call me. I am still waiting...
I proceeded to call retentions 1 July 2021. Kabelo assisted but she neglected to process my requested refund to MTN Finance. (Call ***) After 20 days of not having received my refund, I called Retentions AGAIN, on 19 August 2021.
This time Desmond assisted (call ***). Desmond advised that Kabelo neglected to process my refund but that he would advance my request to MTN Finance and that I would have to wait a FURTHER 21 days for refund.
22 Days later. No refund. Now it is the 10th of September and YET AGAIN on the line to Retentions...this time after being prompted by a FINAL NOTICE of payment due on 7 September 2021 via my e-mail (even though I did not receive ANY prior mail to settle payment) AND after Desmond assured me there would be no further payments that I would have to make, following my out-of-mandate debits by MTN. As I type I am speaking to Thandi, who is following up with Desmond, after 5 failed attempts today to get through and 1 hour already spent on the phone. Thandi (and Desmond) are on the ball but their company is letting them down due to lack of communication between RETENTIONS and LEGAL.
So, in conclusion - MTN *****s ones' money and when a client 'request' funds back, it is approved, but pending a further settlement amount? NO GUYS. That is NOT how one conduct business and retains VALUED clients.
Thank you to Desmond and Thandi @ MTN retentions. Trust my funds will be refunded (without further settlement), promptly.
