Are MTN free minutes a ****?

I have switched to MTN about 2 months ago and I think I already regret doing that. Since I switched, I have bought airtime a number of times and I always get these free minutes I cannot use, even to other MTN numbers. When I check my balances, the minutes are there, but they are just useless. I will let you decide if it's a **** or not.

Last Sunday, 26 November 2023, I loaded R280 airtime and got free airtime of the same amount. I made 1 call which was less than 5 minutes. The whole free airtime vanished, ALL OF IT. As I'm writing this review, I have 120 minutes I cannot use for anything.
