App**** for 2g data was given an open line

I app**** for a 2 g data I was instead given a an open line once the 2g is exhausted (They call it 2g broadband) . In one month I was billed over 2000 the next over 7000. I was supposed to be paying R99 pm They took my account to legal when I couldn't pay. I did not want to have a bad credit so I made a payment arrangement but am still paying off my account which was over R10000 and am even getting the 2g pm which am still paying for .I have tried going through the customer complaint process it didn't help. Once my contract is over I will never use Mtn again. Am just dissapointed that they didn't explain to me the meaning of 2g broad band. I think there is something wrong with the billing system I normally don't even finish the 2g that is why I didn't notice the difference before. They are suppose to put the contract in plain language so that one can understand what 2g broadband mean.

Hi Nompumelelo,

I never got any response from customer care or Corporate Legal department. I only got a telephone call from Norton Attorneys that my account was handed over to them. I received the call in December 2016 after a whole year without anyone from MTN informing me what was the outcome of the investigation if at all carried out despite MTN having all my contact details that were handed over to Norton Attorney without making an effort to let me know what was going on or just to Inform me that if I don't pay the account I will be handed over and that the billing was the correct one. I have since paid the Norton Attorneys with interest charges and exorbitant for sms email and telephone calls and they deducted a portion from the payments I made directly to MTN in 2015 which I don't understand. Am very dissapointed with how MTN treats its customers.
