Apple one year limited warranty summary

I I took my mobile I Phone device to an MTN repairer store in Montague Gardens for repairs under the one-year warranty because I was experiencing a problem with charging it. Yesterday I received a message from the MTN repairer, stating that I need to pay R4840. Upon enquiry, I was told ( ********** job no ********** ) that the R4840 is for the screen which was damaged and the warranty did not cover for this. I told the consultant that I did not bring my phone for screen repairs, and she told me that they do not have a repairer store in South Africa. My problem is not my screen but the charger on my phone. The service provider (MTN) fails to understand my problem and refuses to repair my phone based on my initial complaint, that being a faulty charging mechanism on my phone. They have put the initial complaint under the umbrella of a warranty which cannot be honoured due to a faulty screen.
