I have 3 contracts with MTN.
1 contract is my main number that was on a R700 contract with a device, this contracted was upgraded on the 28 April 2018 to a Sim-Only deal for R299. (I have a copy of the contract signed in store in Sandton City) I am still being debited R700 every month since then. for this contract.
The other 2 contracts were taken out on the 29 November 2016 as Sim Only contracts with the Cyber Monday sale of 50 GB per month. This deal would end November of 2018. I went into store to port these numbers to Pre paid and was told to call. I called and asked for these to be ported. Nothing changed and my account was debited on the 1 December. (R772.11 + R302.36)
I went into the MTN office in Rivonia and enquired about the issue. They escalated and logged a call with reference 1- ********** 9336. I waited and received no help. As it was the holidays, I waited to see what would happen in January. Nothing changed and my account was debited on the 1 January. (R772.11 + R302.36)
I emailed customer care on the 11 January and was given Enquiry Reference Number ********** 6. This also yielded no response.
I then received an SMS saying that my query 1- ********** 9336 (Logged at Rivonia Road) has been resolved. However, I have still not been called by anyone to resolve.
I called customer care on the 31 January (Call reference ********** 15) and spent almost an hour on the line trying to sort this out. I asked for the 2 Sim only deals to be ported, and they told me this would happen within 24 hours. I also queried being overcharged and they told me I know had a credit of R7000 with MTN The gentleman told me that they would start debiting from that amount instead of my bank account.
Nothing has changed and my account was debited on the 1 February. (R772.11 + R302.36)
I emailed customer care again on the 4 February (Reference 53934) And they asked me to validate who I was, I responded and have not heard from them since.
I'm exhausted from having to follow up on this issue with no resolution from MTN despite promises. In each of these instances I have reached out to MTN, with very little response. I have paid my account religiously, in fact over paid and received appalling service in return. I now have a credit with MTN that means I will need to be a customer for life... However the current awful level of service makes me want my money back so that I can switch providers.
Best regards,
