Appalling customer service Experience

I am in utter disbelief with the manner and approach to my query this morning with MTN.

It regarding my airtime and data to which the so-called Technical department ( ********** ) could not answer my query. All they do is simply advice on how to minimize my costs!

What is terrible though, is the fact that some of the staff of this department believe that staff of customer services (083 808) have no idea what they are doing! Who says that about their colleagues.

The so-called 'tips' on minimizing costs didn't work (because my phone already has those settings).

In the end, she just hang up
Good morning Silindile,
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention., please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused as result of the breakdown in the service delivery in one of our touch points.
Kindly note we have requested our Quality Assurance team to supply us with the call recording whereby we will review the call and supply with you feedback.
Here is a few interesting methods you can make use of in order to save data costs.
1. Disable cellular app updates.
If your apps update automatically, make sure they do so only when you are on WiFi. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores and turn off Use Cellular Data.
2. Disable background app refresh.
iOS apps can update in the background, grabbing new content as they sit idle so they can show you the latest news when you return to them. Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and you can turn this setting off completely or go the a la carte route from the list below and choose which apps update in the background.
3. Disable Wi-Fi Assist.
Wi-Fi Assist is a great feature where your iPhone hands off a weak Wi-Fi signal to your cellular network to prevent pages from loading slowly or not at all as it clings to the last remnants of a Wi-Fi signal. If you sit on the edge of a Wi-Fi network at work, say, then your cellular network may be assisting more than you'd like and running up data charges.
To disable Wi-Fi Assist, go to Settings > Cellular and scroll all the way to the bottom to turn off Wi-Fi Assist.
4. Disable iCloud Drive on cellular.
If you use iCloud Drive to shuttle documents in and out of the cloud, those data transfers can add to your bill if they are done over a cellular connection. You can restrict iCloud Drive to Wi-Fi only by going to Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive and scrolling to the bottom and turning off Use Cellular Data.
5.Turn off location service
Go into your settings and ensure that location services are disabled; you can enable them whenever you need to. When you leave location services enabled, your phone will make use of its GPS to continuously determine your current location. This uses up your data.
I trust the above information will be beneficial to you going forward.
We understand that the entire experience must be very frustrating and hope that we can restore
your faith in us.
Warm regards,
Willem Jnr Loots

Best regards,
Still no feedback on my request or even a phone call from the Customer service manager.
Or am I too ordinary a citizen for MTN to even care!
Now, my airtime disappears faster than the phone calls I make! Nor am I Able to make phone calls yet I do have airtime.
I have been with this network ever since I was able to afford a contract, but this is unacceptable!!!
Finishing my contract and moving to Vodacom.
