A while ago I realised that MTN is billing me almost R2000 for data on a sim card that has expired months ago and has not been used.
When I contacted the call centre, all they could tell me was that it showed on the system that the data was used and that I will have to pay. Obviously I asked for them to send me an itemised bill so that I can see where this data was used. The call centre agent told me that she logged the request and that I will receive the itemised bill in maximum 7 days...it has been way more than that by now.
I again contacted the call centre asking for an update. They still were not able to tell me anything expect than...I have to pay the money because their system show the data has been used.
I then asked repeatedly for the contract to be cancelled. After a few days I got a very positive message from mtn saying that they are happy to report that the contract has been changed to pay as you go...how ridiculous is this?!?!?!?!?!?. I complained again and their Retention department and asked for an itemised bill.
Needless to say I am still waiting for the itemised bill and nothing has happened...I am turning to the ombudsman now to see if I can get some help..
