*********** and *****ulent

I called MTN towards the end of February 2023 to cancel a contract on my cellphone, which was due to expire on 5 March 2023. MTN told me to call after the contract has expired in March and my contract will be canceled after I have made payment in March. I called in March again, after making payment, to cancel the expired contract, and they said my contract has been canceled and I will receive to confirm the cancelation, which I received. They also told me that the cancelation would take 30 days. To my surprise, they loaded data and minutes on my sim card and then sent a bill at the end of March. When I called to ask a very rude consultant by the name of Nolwazi told me that yes, she is in retention but she cannot cancel my contract then hung up. MTN loaded the minutes and data again in April and sent the bill, they did the same thing again this month (May). So I called again to follow up and I spoke to the rude Nolwazi again and she told me that MTN scheduled my contract to be canceled in July 2023. I asked her how and why because it expired in March and I was told that it has been canceled. She told me that the "Nolwazi" that I previously spoke to no longer works there, so she is escalating the matter to her manager. When I asked to speak to that manager and asked for her manager's name she hung up. MTN is unbelievably *********** just like their employees. They are *****ulent in that they are refusing to cancel my contract because they know that if I don't pay they will simply disconnect my number and I will not be able to make calls, access the internet, or even send SMSes, and I will be forced to pay. How difficult is it to cancel a contract? Why must it be scheduled to be canceled months later?
