An honest review about MTN

I should have checked the reviews before attempting to take up any products with MTN. If I could rate this company a -1 million, I would. They are pathetic in all aspects of service, except when it comes to taking up one of their products.

May the lord be with you, should you require any help with cancellation or unauthorised deductions, then it becomes impossible to find help at any place in this business. I have an ongoing dispute for nearly 3 months and I am still waiting for it to be resolved.

I was sold a router with a “built-in inverter”(I assume the agent meant a UPS) but the product never came with it. When I logged the return and cancellation(did not use the product) I was sent from pillar to post before it being “resolved”. I kept getting emails and SMS’s about being a bad payer and it reflecting negatively on the bureau, even though the product was cancelled and I never should’ve been billed for it in the first place. A month later they deduct R1000 from my account and I have been struggling to get the money back since. I have logged 3 separate complaints via store and email, to no success. The complaints department finds it amusing to respond at 6pm on a Friday evening. I respond immediately and only got feedback today(2 weeks later) saying that I never attached proof, even though proof was attached when double checking the email.

I never write reviews on Hello Peter, but these ****** are going around like ungoverned *****s and getting away with whatever they want. Serious action should be taken against MTN by the Ombudsman because this is ridiculous. Waiting 3-4 weeks for any sort of feedback is beyond insane.

If I were the one not paying MTN, I’m sure I would be receiving hundreds of calls a day about making payments but when roles are reversed they are silent.

The complaints agent name is Zamokuhle. I have no problem with her, but if this is the department standard then no one should be working here. Or you should make sure to actually attempt to please your customers, at least 50% effort geeez.
