Almost a month without service - Unfair termination of agreement
My debit order was not deducted at the end of August, MTN has changed my account to cash paying (for reasons unknown to me)
My cellphone was disconnected on 3 September. I subsequently made the outstanding payment to MTN on 12 September. I immediately sent the proof of payment to *** to which I received a response requesting my pin and banking details, they informed me at the same time that there was an outstanding balance of R642.10 (for September month 2020 - which is due 30 September only). I sent them all of the requested information and they responded to tell me that my line would be reconnected within 48 working hours.
On 14 September I followed up on my line reconnection, to which I then received a response stating that my account was now in arrears by R2123.80! I requested a breakdown of this as this is utterly impossible! To which they responded the my account was in arrears of R1423.80!! These 2 variances by the way were just 2 hours apart from each other! On this email I was then again asked to verify my information with my ID, address and banking details (I cannot see why as this was sent already 2 days earlier)
Today is 22 September and I have been UNABLE to use my cellphone as both incoming and outgoing calls, sms messages, etc have been blocked since 3 September. My question is how am I going to be expected to pay for the full month of September when thanks to MTN's incompetence I have been unable to use my phone and also how can I be expected to be happy with this kind of service (its been 10 days since I settled my account) and I cannot use my network????
Totally shocking and disgusting service! I WILL be changing to a service provider who can help me (unlike your slogan "how can we help you")!!!!!!!!!!!
