All MTN wants is to lock you into a new contract - but don't expect good service in return!

Where do I start? 1. MISLEADING SALES TACTICS MTN calls me to tell me they're going to reduce my contract subscription amount! Yup - if it sounds to good to be true .... Instead, they're simply looking for renewal of the 2 year contract. In return they give me a SIM LTE. 2. SHODDY DELIVERY TIME I took over 1 month to receive my new SIM card via the courier service used by MTN. Yes, people phoned me often to ask umpteen security questions, and promised to deliver on various days - and just never showed up. Once they even claimed they were in my town but couldn't find my address. 3. SHODDY SERVICE RE ACTIVATION OF SIM CARD After finally receiving my new SIM card (one month later), I called the Activations Dept to get the card activated. How many people work in this Dept? ONE??!? In total, I have 'held on' while listening to music for 45 minutes waiting for someone to answer. I've learned never to call during lunch hour - the dept just isn't staffed then. Finally, after getting through and explaining my situation, the line simply went dead (I think the staff member put the phone down - didn't want to deal with my query). My SIM wasn't activated. My next attempt was equally unsuccessful - the employee promised to activate my SIM - again, a day later, still nothing. So, in summary, MTN has me contracted for another 2 years. And what do I have? An usable SIM.

Luckily, I have a good memory - so 2 years from now when MTN is looking for another contract renewal, guess what? Yes, you can dupe me once, but twice would make me the fool.

Dear Kabelo Mosimanyane - Complaints Analyst A week has passed since your call to me, promising that my new SIM would be activated (and offering 2 months' refund on my contract). Then, that same day, a call from Lungile, supposedly handling the activation process. Well, still no activation!!! Now, today, when using my OLD Sim to make a call I get the message "Not registered on network" and when I insert the NEW Sim I get the message "Not registered on network/emergency calls only/no SIM card". So, what the hell am I do next? If the Complaints Analysts at MTN have no power to effect change, and the staff have no interest in effecting change, what must your clients do/say/beg/offer/promise/cajole/threaten in order to get the service that MTN WANTED ME TO TAKE?!?!?!? I didn't ask for a new SIM card! I didn't even really want it! You pushed a new SIM on me, and now you can't get it activated. I can understand why MTN is rated 1.7 out of 10 on the customer feedback scale. Come on!!!!! Either activate the ****** SIM card or release me from a contract that offers me nothing but ENDLESS hassle and a truly negative experience from start to finish. I look forward with interest to your reply.
