All I need is a sim swap
Phoning Mtn call centre is a serious pain, getting a sim swap done through mtn contact centre is a serious misery. I have been phoning 173 since last week , their system is always down. My phone was ****** in February and it took 2 weeks to get my sim swap, I suppose it will take me a month this time around. Can I please be assisted.

A SIM swap should be a very easy and painless procedure. The easiest procedure is to in fact not call the contact centre but to actually visit one of the MTN mobile phone stores or regional offices. The 173 call centre specialises more on our Pre-paid customers, hence you probably waited so long for your first SIM card.
You do not indicate which city you live in, but should you reside in Gauteng or one of the larger cities, this should not be a problem. You could also e-mail the relevant department at ***. to find your closest branch.
To do a SIM Swap and keep your old tel no is also quite easy on the Pre-paid contracts as there are clear instructions on the Starter packs.
Hope this information will be of use and help to resolve your problem
