AIRTIME NOT BEING CREDITED TO PREPAID ACCOUNT

I have been a prepaid subscriber of Mtn for a few months now. On Sunday 2 October I checked my airtime balance and I had approximately R200 airtime and I had data. On Monday morning when trying to send a message I had no airtime or data. I purchased R180 airtime and an R80 data bundle and some SMS time. About 10 minutes later, I again had a zero balance on airtime and data. I tried phoning 173 and after about 3 hours of holding on, the operator told me that the system was down and to try later. I tried at 3.30 and after holding on for about 40 minutes was cut off. I went into Mtn Rietfontein Road Boksburg and the person that helped me there suggested that I buy a voucher for airtime as he thought that would work, I spent another R115 on data and airtime which he loaded for me. About 10 minutes later my balance was once again zero. I have sent numerous e-mails to the Mtn contact centre and have had absolutely no response.

Good day Lynnette,

Thank you for your post.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience experienced. We completely understand the frustration it has caused.

Kindly be advised that the system shows that the data bundles and airtime were used up on internet connections. Please note that besides internet browsing and downloading, your handset can also generate charges via background activity of applications and automatic running of data applications. It may be worth controlling your data usage by turning the mobile data connection off when you don't need it. You can manage data access through the "Settings" menu. This is not recommended if you need constant Internet access for important apps such as email, but will definitely help reduce data usage. We also advise that you close off all applications that you are not using and also clear the Browser Cache on your phone. You may also contact our call centre and ask for the data support department for further assistance.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards,

Peggy

Good afternoon Peggy,

The response that you have given me does not make sense, as what and how many internet connections would I need to have open or use or browse to use R180 airtime and R80 data in 5-10 minutes?

I do not browse the internet whilst at work, and that is when the data disappeared. I have repeatedly asked for details of how and where the airtime went - I would like to know what connections to the internet I had - but nobody appears to be able to give this to me - convenient?
