Airtime and data monopoly in South Africa

If there was a feature for 0 stars or negative stars I'd use it. Can we get clarity from both MTN and Vodacom as to why they charge exbortant fees for data. MTN recommends using their app, when you check the data prices there, it's very expensive and they don't show the prices and offers you get with using the USSD. It's ridiculous to consider these companies are so greedy. They charge more to poor South Africans, you look at MyTown offers, the further away you are from major cities the more expensive your data prices are. It makes absolutely no sense.
