After 27 years, a week to reconnect a phone over a couple of Rands, No Invoice, No Notification and I'm loosing Business.
After being a loyal customer under one contract or another since 1997, I stopped receiving invoices and not ever going over the contract minutes or data, I just kept paying the contract rate.
Unfortunately, my daughter used R 295 in data for a game without permission and without my knowledge on another device under control of a family member.
For the first time in 23 years my account was in arrears by a couple of hundred Rand.
Did I get a notification of this or any grace to pay? After 23 years of being a loyal customer, the only notification I got was "Your service has been suspended" when I tried to phone a customer.
This is my businesses primary phone.
I have paid the outstanding amount directly at an MTN store on Monday morning 09:30 +/- a couple of minutes. It is now Friday 10:45 +/-. Despite spending in excess of an hour on the phone with their service-representatives, the phone is still disconnected.
In the mean time I am getting seething emails from clients about not being able to reach me and taking their business somewhere else.
Way to go MTN, way to treat and loose a loyal customer of more than 2 and a half decades.
I would recommend every person to use any other cellular service provider than MTN. Your loyalty means nothing to them and they have certainly shown that they don't care.
