After 20 years I'm done with MTN

It is imposible to cancel a contract. Mtn has put Mondo incharge of cancelations who then say they will escalate the matter to MTNs top management... And 2 months later Mondo is still apologizing for the delay in feedback from MTN. So will I continue paying over R300 a month for something I can't use?
