ACCOUNT LIMIT HOAX - CUSTOMER LOYALTY BETRAYAL

When sigining up for the various packages, I specifically requested a limit on all the accounts so that the usage limit is zero (0) once all the airtime has been used up on the TopUp packages and then if we required data, it would be on pre-paid and and WILL NOT go out-of-bundle or allow anyone to purchase extra data on my account without my consent (the account holder) no matter what!

This has been working as agreed since I signed up with MTN several years ago. However, MTN in August betrayed my customer loyalty and the agreement that I had with MTN in this regard. A Marketing Strategy was deployed by MTN to OVERIDE my instructions to MTN for usage limit is zero (0) once the TopUP amount had been reached and sent a marketing message to my underaged child's tablet (12 years old) to say that bundles may be purchased by dialing a specific number *141* something.......

The reason I put a usage limit to zero (0) was exactly to avoid nasty surprises with my bill at the end of the month. But now, I am sitting with over a R12 000 bill because MTN overide my instruction with this marketing strategy. Did you win at the end? I dont think so, because MTN has lost me as a customer. You do not betray customers like this. It is just unacceptable.

Good day Sandra Pires,

Thank you for your post.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience experienced. We completely understand the frustration it has caused.

Kindly be advised that the Subscriber Usage Limit (SUL) is active on the ********** 320. Please note that the SUL does not cap bundles loaded via USSD or via the call centre. The system shows that the Self Service Recurring Data bundles activation were initiated by client via the USSD self-service *141*. The Recurring bundles have since been cancelled on the number.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you and to restore your faith in us.

Regards,
Ayanda
