Absolutely shocking service from MTN
After calling their customer care number "135" numerous times and getting cut off, one of their agents called me to upgrade my cellphone contract so whilst on the phone with her, I asked if I could simultaneously cancel another contract I have with MTN for a router that I no longer need as I now have wifi and its a waste of money. She said that would be no problem but there would be a fee of around R1300 which I understand I would need to pay as I am cancelling before the period that the contract is due. But she said, she couldnt help me as she was not in the cancellations dept, so I would need to call "135" and speak to someone there. For another week I tried to get thru numerous times and a week later I finally did. I spoke to a lady who said she has done all the relevant on the system so now all I need to do is go to an MTN branch and pay the cancellation fees and the contract will be cancelled. Yesterday I went to MTN Stoneridge and they turned me away saying they had loadshedding and I must go to MTN Greenstone. After walking all the way there, with a very sore foot, I must add (I have a bad injury!) I am told when I get there that they cannot help, I must go to MTN Mall of Africa. I am absolutely livid. Never in my life have I experienced such disgusting service!!!! I have been a customer of MTN since 1995 - I have had the same telephone number even since 1995 - and this the shocking service I receive! Please can somebody help me as there is no way I can get to Mall of Africa. I do not understand why this cannot be resolved?????
