A contract with MTN is a trap

On the 12 December 2019 was approved for a cellphone contract and my first debit order was set to be at the end of the month that same month of an amount of R299. I was debited the agreed amount but the problem started in the month of January whereby they debited R334, called the call center and they deemed it a system error so I reversed it with my bank and did a manual payment at an ATM. I later that day called and asked for the debit order to be switched to cash instead of being debited, the gentleman i spoke to advised that it has been changed. Come month end February i was debited R600 and some odd rands i queried this again and i was given the whole system error story, they claimed that they changed their system February 2020 so hence my payment has not reflected. I reversed it again and did a manual payment. My line got suspended in March, called the call centre and was advised that i have not been paying my account, luckily for me i kept the receipts so I disputed that claim, forwarded them the proof of payments and my line was opened, only to find out it was the first of many disputes to come. I have a duty to be call MTN 2 times a month to have my line open and i have to always have data so that i email them proof of payments. November 2020 i asked to talk to a manager as I could not take it anymore, Khanyisile, the manager i spoke to requested that i send proof of payments from Dec 2019 - Oct 2020 that was easy because i kept all receipts, she then advised that she has escalated the matter and my account will be up to date, the Turn Around Date was 7 days from that day. Unfortunately that was not true as my line was suspended beginning December, called the MTN and i gave them the service request number that the manager gave me and only to find out the query was not submitted and the lady that assisted advised she will ask her manager to submit it. Called MTN this morning as I received a threatening text that I promised to pay R334 and therefore i will be handed over to the credit bureau if I don’t pay up, the gentleman that assisted said that the query has not been attended to (still open). As much as i want to pay this account off and live a peaceful life but i do not have that kind of money laying around. I am devastated to say the least.
