7 Year old active frequently used sim card , Deactivated or ported and poor customer service from MTN Maponya Mall

MTN I am really dissapointed in how you treat your customers from all levels and at this rate you will loose a family of 7 who are all on your network and also part of the MTN Zakhele shares. How does a sim card that has been working for 7 years stop working? Upon visiting MTN Maponya we were told the sim card has been deactivated due to it not working for 3 months, and also ported to another network and it's our responsibility to find out where? how do you tell your customer that? first of all when if a sim card is being swaped, there should be some security questions that get asked by the network provider, last activity being airtime loaded, last numbers called e.t.c. all this activity has been recorded. The magnitude of this inconvenience is unmeasurable, i'm not sure how your customer service consultants cannot 2 and 2 together, of this day in age where most application systems authenticate via cell phone, recent messagesfrom MTN were sent to that phone number, an affidavit is also available for this number.

Affected number ********** 517

Kindly be advised of the below regulation approved by The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa

When an MTN prepaid MSISDN has not made a chargeable call for 30 days, an sms reminder is sent to the sim card to advising the user to keep the number active by making a call or to load a voucher every 90 days.

If the number has not made a chargeable call for 85 days another reminder is sent to the user on the sim card advising that due to the sim card not making a chargeable call for 90 days, the sim card will be deactivated on MTN Pay As You Go System for more info call 083173.

If the user has not comp**** with the access for life rules in 90 days period, the number will be deactivated. Once the number has been deactivated, we recycle it and we allocated to a new sim card which will be placed on sale on the market.
