7 days return policy actually just 6

I took out a contract with MTN on Sa****ay the 18th of June. I was approved and collected my phone that afternoon, leaving the shop at 17:00. I experienced a issue where my phone went off and did not come on again, until I put it on charge. As it had 78% battery life, the issue was not that it was flat. The same happened again after that, where the battery was at 93%.

I also had issues with my WiFi, where it says connected, but doesn't actually work. Sa****ay morning, the 25th of June I returned to the shop in order to get assistance within my 7 day period, just to be told that my 7 period is passed. Apparently the Sa****ay that I collected my phone on, was considered the first day of the 7 day period (even though I walked out of the shop as they closed).
In order to get assistance now, I need to take my phone in for ''warranty repairs'' which will leave me without a phone for a week.. possibly.
Whether the shop attendants are as incapable of helping as they say, or just unwilling, I can't say, but I left the shop feeling ******* and cheated on the 25th.
This kind of service is unacceptable and downright pathetic, especially considering I was within my 7 days. I shudder to think how I'll be treated as a client for the next 2 years if this is how I'm treated within my first week.
I can't recommend MTN to anyone with a clear conscious at this time

Thank you for the reply.

I do hope to sort this out as I'm not in week two, of which my phone needs to be restarted daily because of wifi connectivity issues, and 3 times now has it gone "Dead" where I need to plug it into a charger (Battery has been in the 70's and 90's%) in order to actually just start it up again.

Although the option to send it in for 'repairs' is there, this option is just rediculous as per previous "7 days to return for immediate swop out but actually being only 6 days, so we can't help you" argument.

No one has contacted me yet, and my phone now dies on a daily basis. Ive been *******, cheated and now ignored. MTN will not see me as a client again, and I shall actively warn any one potentially wanting to switch to them as a Service Provider. This was supposed to be a simple swop out, but has escalated into a ugly mess because of a lack of consideration towards the client.
