5 Minute contract, 5 day cancellation!!!

<p>I have been trying for 3 days now to cancel my contract with MTN. I sent an email to make sure what the procedure is regarding a cancellation, I was given a number and was to told to give them a call on the day my contract expires, I called them to make sure from them as well regarding this. Well I phoned on the 16th of April only to be told that they do not work on weekends and that I should phone back on Monday, where I rep**** but Monday is a public holiday, will they be working and I was told yes, phone back on Monday. Well guess what the answer I received on Monday with a shocked voice was, "But it's a holiday, they don't work on holiday, phone back on Tuesday." So Tuesday I phoned again, went throught the whole thing again, got transferred to Retention and then the wait begins, after 20min I ended the call, I decided to go to and MTN store, where I was told to contact this number and was told that they would show me how, disgusted I said I've been trying for 3 days already, my problem is I have a Vodacom contract that I have to phone from, my tablet cannot make calls, this is costing a fortune. He eventually dailed the number and we waited, again...FOR OVER 2 HOURS!!!!!! I had to get home, so did the staff of MTN. I phoned again afterwards and were told that this department only work from 8 to 5 (what a joke, cause they don't). So that brings us to today, I phoned again, did the whole thing again, was told that I can't be transferred as their lines we're down, I should phone back in 2 hours, phoned back in 2 hours, the message I get when I phone the direct line for retentions is, "Thank you for calling MTN, unfortunately this office is closed at the moment."</p> <p>Well there you have it, so much for 8-5 Monday-Friday. It takes 5 min to approve an account, but God forbid you try to cancel it.</p>
