3 weeks of running around after questionable reason for contract decline given, with little to no assistance after decline reason confirmed as unfounded, and still no contract.

A summary of events as I experienced them are as follows: 1. 27/11/2017 – I app**** for the MTN Black Friday online special of 30GB data contract – ref ********** 49 2. 28/11/2017 – I called through to the MTN call centre twice as no one had contact me about the application as yet – this was escalated, and I received a call. After going through the application process, I was declined – but no proper reason for the decline was given. The call centre agent advised that another client had experienced the same issue, but nothing was wrong and the client had been cleared, and that if I could do the same, I could carry on with the application for the special. I made 2 further calls that day to try to find out what the reason for the decline was, but could not get any resolution. 3. 29/11/2017 – 01/12/2017 – I made 7 phone calls to the MTN call centre to try to resolve this issue – I was passed from one number to another until I got hold of a Supervisor (Max) in the call centre 4. 04/12/2017 - an awesome supervisor in the call centre, Max, finally assisted me to resolve this issue and to confirm that there was in fact no reason that could be given for the decline, and that my profile is clear – ref ********** 55. He did advise I should go in to a MTN store to complete the original application, but as it has started online, and I have a reference number, I thought I should continue with this application. 5. 03/12/2017 – I sent a query to the MTN sales office regarding my application – ticket # ********** 4. I also called in to the MTN Corporate Sales office to continue with the contract application. I spoke to Sea – ref SE ********** 6, who said that I need to escalate this to the MTN ********** email box , as the special is over and she could not assist, only that department could. 6. Since the above date, I have called in a further 2 times to other departments I thought may have been able to assist and to get other email contact details. I have also escalated this via email another 3 times, with only generic responses coming back showing it is being escalated, but nothing further, and one other response for another email address that I used saying that this is not for their department. I have been a customer with MTN since 2000 and have personally been responsible for many clients switching from other service providers to MTN due to personal marketing for a brand I have always believed in. I was happy to do all the run around (which I feel was essential as I am also going overseas in March next year and was concerned that whatever was wrong would affect my trip if I did not resolve it). However, now that it is clear that this was an MTN issue (based on the fact that no issues could be found), not an problem regarding my own profile, I expected MTN to do what was right, and give me the original contract I was applying for, which is the original 30GB contact.

Hello Kagiso So, 4 days later and still no response. I am not sure why I would have expected anything different, perhaps I hoped that customer service could possibly be a real thing...oh well...lets see if anything actually happens. I must say, the other service providers are now looking more and more like an option. #shoparound
