1st Time MTN user and will probably be the LAST time!

On the 2nd of February I submitted an online application for the Samsung Galaxy S8 which was to be a Valentines Day gift for my husband. I was only contacted on the 9th of February with regards to the finer details of my application process. I was assisted by Mukhetwa who was very polite and friendly who took me through the process with ease. I was told by him that my application was pre-approved. He informed me that the device will be delivered within 7 days and I had asked him if delivery for Valentines Day would be possible. He said that if my documents were submitted by the same day (9th Feb), it was possible. The agent was aware of the fact that this was a surprise gift ... yet he contacted my husband on Monday despite the fact that they had an alternate number to contact me on !!! Moving along.. I sent all the required docs through within the hour(on Friday the 9th of Feb.) so I made the deadline. I was not contacted via email or telephone to show acknowledgement of my docs etc. I received an SMS on Tuesday that DSV (the delivery company) will contact me to arrange an appointment. That was 3 days ago. I have not received a single attempt to communicate with me at all. I however, have called them several times already. I called yesterday - 5 times. There seems to be some sort of issue with their phones - at this point everything about this was becoming tiresome, annoying and a regretful decision. Eventually I got through at attempt number 6 - a lady named Amanda had spoken to me and guess what, we couldn't arrange delivery because their SYSTEMS WERE OFFLINE. She took down my details to "contact me" which was another waste of my damn time because NO ONE CONTACTED ME. I call in today... thinking why do I keep doing this to myself and not just cancel this entire order. I get through to Tebogo - she puts me through to DSV to once again TRY and arrange for delivery. I start reading out my order number .. it goes well. The lady then asks for my ID number... and the painful experience continues, *********** staff that need to clean their ears!!! I must have said my ID number over 4 times to her but she kept getting it wrong. Then she drops the calls on me....... I call back and speak with Tebogo again and I explain to her what had happened with the call. She puts me through to Johnathan at DSV who was helpful but he also explained to me that I will not be able to receive the phone today as the guy has already left.... NOW MTN/DSV... HOW IS THIS MYYYYY PROBLEM??? 1.I made attempts to arrange this. 2. Delivery was promised within 7 days. 3.I had to incur additional expenses throughout this journey. 4. I was said to be contacted once their systems were back online. This is just absolutely ridiculous! you people have cost me time and money that I am not keen on spending! I have wasted money on calling u ... I have had my personal time used on this without receiving proper customer care from you. It feels as if I am desperately running after you people yet I am supposed to be the one hunted. After sharing my experience with others, I have concluded that MTN is just a poor service provider. The service is poor, the processes are pathetic and the customer experience is non-existent. Why have an online application process when you cannot handle such a service? Admit that you cannot provide this to consumers and that you are an irrelevant stone age type of business!

I am not impressed. The arrangement was for today between 12pm - 2pm. 31 minutes to go before you miss the deadline AGAIN.

And remember that no matter how many TOUCH POINTS you have, it is MTN that is SOLELY responsible for their product and service at the end of the day. Take some accountability.

TIME'S UP. Just as I thought - utterly useless.
