***6 and *** doesn't work

I've been trying since yesterday to get through to ***. This morning I was advised to contact the legal department ***6- the number does not seem to be working.

This is another case of a sim card being blocked by someone other than the actual owner of the sim card! In addition we need to trace a caller from an unknown number who has been harassing with over 80 calls in 24 hours (we believe the two incidents are related). As advised, we have already opened a case with the police and would like to proceed. Could someone kindly contact us in this regard.

Mtn reference numbers:
*** Contact Nazam. (This call was to report the harassment)

*** Contact Rachel. (This call was made by an unidentified person who then blocked the sim-card.) - Reference was provided when I called MTN to unblock the sim card.

Why is it impossible to get through to those numbers?! Contact number provided in the private section.

Hello YolandieDJ,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. According to our records the number was reported ******. Because a ****** number is an emergency, it can be suspended by anyone even thou they are not the account holder or the user. This is to avoid any ********** and excessive usage on the number.

Regarding the private calls you are receiving, please note that it is only with a court order can MTN give a number for a private caller. The process of issuing MTN with a court order can only be initiated and requested for by the South African Police Services and not by the user.

We trust that you will find the above in order.

Kind Regards
Itumeleng Rakoena
