Mr Price Mobile (Be Careful when purchasing) - Fast and Effecient Sale but Return Service

Sale A call centre agent was great at convincing me to take a mr price mobile contract and told me that the signal in my work area (crown mines) and home area was great (3g and higher) - He advised that MR price mobile uses the Cell C network and I shouldn't have a problem - I was happy and took the contract - (Mint Pearl Cellphone & Smar****ch)@R100 a month over 2 years. The sales agent advised that there was a cancellation Fee Involved (Not disclosed to me) if I were to return and also that a 14 day return period if I was not satisfied. So great, I was satisfied!

Problem When I received the cellphone I had to register the SIM overnight and when I started to make calls, I noticed that the network reception was terrible. I drove from Crown Mines in Johannesburg all the way through to Randburg and realised that the reception was so bad I could not make a single call without having bad reception. I called the call centre and spoke to more than 1 consultant to cancel the contract. Firstly they argued and try to keep me on the contract and were not friendly at all when I explained what the problem was. I told the consultant to even send a technician out to test with me and nothing was done.

The calls are recorded so from an audit point of view I will stand my ground on all that I type here. Eventually the contract is cancelled but my account got debited over the last 2 months. 1 - you get charged a sim and connection fee of R199 2 - you have to pay a cancellation fee of R369

My argument is why should pay R568 for using the phone for 3 days and no joy from Mr Price Mobile. I spoke to consultant named Thabile nthembu today and she is still arguing that I should pay the amount - I told her that I wanted to speak to a competent employer as she is very stubborn.

Mrp Mobile has still not picked up the phone from me and its been over a month. Hows this for service !!!!

Reviewer Update
I received a call from a Mr Price resource on the same day but no follow up call to advise as to whether I need to pay the full amount requested for using the phone for 3 days. No arrangement has been by MRP made to pick up the phone.
