I'm a mushroom
My wife was ****** on 13 July 2017 and she lost the phone. (The contract is in my name but she used the facility). On 14 or 15 July I contacted MRP Mobile. They immediately sent me a new SIM card, which I received on Tuesday, 18 July(under correction). When I spoke to the MRPmobile officer I was told that I did qualify for an early upgrade at that stage (14 or 15 July 2017), which I requested to initiate. I was told that an agent will get in contact with me. Since then I phoned the support desk several times, requested an upgrade online and also via Whatsup. Everytime I was told that an agent would contact me. I was also told that I cannot contact the agent. I used the SIM card in an old device for a few days, which then stopped working. I had to get another contract or buy a new phone. At some stage, third week of August, I was told that MRPmobile put all upgrades on hold. I then decided to obtain a new contract from another service supplier. Keep in mind that the service is used for business purposes. On 22 August 2017 I received a call from your collections in connection with an amount in arrears. I eventually spoke to the manager of collections, Tanya. She said that she would open a request to go into the matter. She followed up on 28 August and on 5 September at which occasions I could tell her that nobody has contacted me with reference to an upgrade, and up to today the situation is the same. On 21 Sept 2017 I received a call from collections again, where I had to explain myself again. NO SERVICE whatsoever. I would like to state that I am not unwilling to pay for services that I received, but at that stage the bulk of the outstanding amount was for services that I did not receive. I requested that they revise the account and determine a fair credit for services not received and promises not met by their officials. w ill settle a fair account.
I sent a request that I would not continue with the contract after 16 October 2017, when it was renewable, and to get my number as a prepaid number. They refused to end the contract due to an outstanding amount. I spoke to several "managers" in connection with the account and was promised feedback every time. No feedback was received yet.
Invoices continued to be issued. I had no service since August 2017. Now my account is at a collections agent with an enormous amount and I am threatened to be blacklisted and legal action will be taken.
I also did not get my number back - which was used for business purposes for the last 8 years.
