I want my refund for a Tablet that worked for only 1 day

I brought an Alcatel 1T Vodacom Tablet on the 4th of July at Mr Price Eikestad mall. when i got home it would just switch off and give a message that says software issues before switching off. I returned it to the Store on Monday the 6th and i was told to go back home and do the updates it will be fine. I went back home and when I was trying to charge it it did not charge so i was not able to do the updated, I then went back to the store the following day and I insisted that I want a refund because the Tablet is a week old and already giving me problems, They said u cannot get a refund, They need to send it so that it can be checked and so i need to come back the following day to sign papers do that they can send it to Vodacom.(I had to make several trips to the store). I went back to sign the papers and they did send it away. Today 15th July I received an SMS saying " The device at Vodacom Repairs with Job No.***2 has been sent to the Advanced Repair Centre for higher level repair". I would like to get my refund because I do not want a second hand device.
