Call Center personnel lying to customers about charges

Last week I was called by Mr Price Mobile call centre, they offered me a simcard with airtime on it, I proceeded to enquire if there are any charges, the consultant said no. She asked if I understood the terms and conditions of getting the simcard, I asked her to repeat and also asked again, "you said there are no charges?" She said yes.

Mr Price came to deliver the useless simcard that I do not want (I was planning on throwing it away she said it was "pre-paid"). Upon receiving the simcard they requested I sign a document locking me into a 12 month contract for R100-00 per month. TO MAKES THINGS WORSE - it states if you send it back they will charge you R199-00 cancellation fee to my MRPRICE money account.

I called Mr Price mobile and was reassured by the operator that she has cancelled this contract and that I won't be charged for the cancellation of R199-00. I was treated with respect and the contact removed from my name on the system.

I am appalled at the audacity of Mr Price Mobile to try and lock your customers into cellphone contracts without sending a written explanation of ALL terms and conditions. Your call operators should be ashamed of themselves.
