**** Alert: Misleading Sales Practices by Mr Price Mobile

I want to share my incredibly frustrating experience with Mr Price Mobile and warn others about their shady sales tactics.

At the end of July, a sales representative called me, promoting a data subscription plan where I would get 20GB of data per month for R179. The sales rep clearly stated that this was not a contract, and I could cancel anytime without any hassle. I agreed to the plan, but specifically asked for written confirmation of the terms and conditions before finalizing the deal. To this day, I have not received any written confirmation.

Here’s where things went downhill:

Billing Issues: I signed up on July 30th, and I was told my data would be disbursed on the 12th of every month. I also asked when I would be billed, and I was informed that my data would be prorated for the period from July 30th to August 12th. This seemed fair at the time, but then I saw two charges on my statement: one for R179 on July 30th and another R179 on August 12th!

When I reached out to customer service to resolve this, they kept insisting that the initial R179 was for the "subscription start," which was never mentioned by the sales rep. I was assured that I’d only be paying for the data plan, no initial fee was ever disclosed.

I requested Mr Price Mobile to review the call recordings to prove that I was misled, but they refused to acknowledge this and kept repeating, "That’s just how it is." It’s clear they aren’t willing to honor what their salespeople promise over the phone.

Cancellation Nightmare: When I finally decided to cancel the subscription, I was told I’d be charged a cancellation fee of R179! Again, this was never mentioned in the initial conversation, and because I never received any written confirmation of the terms and conditions, I have nothing to refer to.

I believe Mr Price Mobile used deceptive sales practices to close the deal and deliberately withheld key information. Their refusal to provide written confirmation or review the call recordings shows they are trying to blindside customers, which is ********* and likely in violation of the Consumer Protection Act.

If you're considering signing up for Mr Price Mobile, beware. They make promises over the phone that they don’t honor, and their lack of transparency will leave you trapped in unfair billing practices and unexpected fees.

Absolutely disappointed with Mr Price Mobile. Avoid them at all costs!
