Refusing to return a bad quality item

I bought a item from Mr Price Sport of which the quality is extremely bad. I wore the item about 3 times and it already started the wear badly. I went to return the item and I was told that they can't take it back because 'it wasn't a problem with quality of the product' I tried to explain to them that the type of fabric was extremely bad and it shouldn't have started to wear after only wearing it 3 times. On their website it says that you can return any item that you're unhappy with. I'm extremely disappointed in MR PRICE SPORT because the quality of this item unacceptable.
