Practice What You Preach!!

I am a very strong believer of supporting local and do my best to buy Mr Price clothing that is locally made and sourced and steer clear of clothes made in countries from other continents outside of Africa.

Recently I can across a hat being sold at Mr Price Sport with “Project Rhino: Stop Wildlife Crime” on the front. I thought this technically is a fantastic concept and I completely support it, as I am passionate about wildlife and it preservation, especially our amazing wildlife of Africa. When I checked to see where the product was made I was horrified that it was “made in China”. It is unbelievable to me that the country who are the biggest Rhino horn buyers in the world (not to mention other wildlife crime such as lion teeth and claws, pangolin scales etc.) are the ones making these hats. How can Mr Price support the economy of this nation by allowing this. I understand most of your clothing is “made in China”, but it’s completely ironic they are selling these hats and you are supporting it. What is the story behind this? How can we allow a country to make such hats, when they barely support the concept themselves???? Rather buy "Support the ban on Rhino Horn Hats" from local brands that actual support this and give money towards rhino conservation!!

We need to be more conscious of the purchases we make and that the statement you make on your clothing “practice what you preach” is actually being followed through!!!
