Dispute of Charge: R299.99 Overcharge at Mr Price Sport Ballito Junction and refusal to refund that

On 08/01/2026 at 11:07, we visited Mr Price Sport at Ballito Junction while on our way to the beach. After leaving the store, we realised that we were charged for two items instead of one.

We immediately contacted the call centre and were informed that the Ballito Junction store’s phone number was not working, and that we would need to return to the store in person. We advised the call centre that we would only be able to return on 09/01/2026, as we had already left the shopping centre.

When we returned to the store on 09/01/2026, we spoke to the cashier who had processed the transaction. The cashier, Mr Simangaliso, denied that an error had occurred and refused to assist us. We requested that the camera footage be reviewed to verify the transaction, however, this request was also refused.

As a result, we were overcharged by R299.99. This situation is extremely concerning, as it raises questions about whether the item we paid for was taken by a staff member or whether the extra amount charged was retained by the staff member.
