Being honest get u nowhere...

I purchased a tent and discovered that the poles are damaged, when I purchased it I was told that I need to keep the price tag on as proof, I went to the store where I had purchased it and was informed that it holds no merit, I need the till slip, I informed them when I purchased the item and that it has faded and that the tag on the bag should be proof of purchase, this is what I was informed. I was told that I can get a voucher for less then what I paid for the item or I need to get bank statements to prove of purchased. I was honest enough to inform them that I can not remember when I purchased it which means I have to draw statements for a year (which they not going to pay for). After waiting for more then an hour in store for an answer, I called the customer services and was told that the same area manager which said I should draw the statements, will get back to me within 24hours, That was on Monday, today Wednesday. Does one have to lie no a days to get your moneys worth? It seems u spend more money to get what u want & become rude & vulgar to get a reaction from someone. Being honest & polite gets you nowhere & customer service seems to go down the drain
