Wedding Regsitry

I created a wedding registry online to make things easier for my guests, only to find out that guests can only purchase items on my registry online and not in-store using my registry code. How is it that the two cannot be linked? You have people of all ages attending a wedding, some who do not even know how to purchase goods online, so now we will probably end up with loads of duplicate gifts!
