Unprofessional and inefficient service

I visited Mr Price Home Design Quarter to purchase an item. The salesman, Sibusiso, informed me that I should not purchase in store as delivery would take more than a month as they have 'issues' with delivery. I purchased the item online on the 17th of December. Delivery was stated as no later than the 28th of December. To date the item has not been scheduled for delivery. I called, used the whatsapp option and emailed several times and no-one could assist me with delivery. Furthermore, no emails were responded to. Today I called to cancel the order. Tombi informed me that she could not cancel the order, and that I should wait for delivery and then return the item. Online, it states that an order can be cancelled at any time. Why should I wait for delivery (and she still did not know when it would be) and then be forced to pay delivery and return costs? When I asked this she then said she would email the courier service to cancel scheduling of delivery and can process a refund once the item has been logged as received. I could not get a timeline for a refund. Awful service.
