Theft in the store

Good Day

My name is Mmakau Masindi. I was at Mr Price Clothing with my friend at 13:30 on the 9th February 2018 at Morning Glen.

We took Items we wanted to buy and went into the fitting rooms. I put on the jean that I was fitting then went out of the fitting room to look at myself on the big mirror. My friend asked me to go change the size of the jean she was fitting and bring her a bigger size.

I was still wearing the jean that I was fitting. I left my purse, phone and shoes in my fitting room and closed the door . I went to take a bigger size for my friend.

When I came back to the fitting rooms. I saw Tshepo (a Mr Price home employee) coming out of the fitting room I was in. Then I quickly went inside my fitting room to check my purse as i found the door open. My purse was open and all my money (R300) was gone.

Tshepo was hurrying to leave the fitting room. I loudly called him and said to him "I think you took my money because you are the one who came out of my fitting room". Tshepo denied.

I then asked a female employee who works at the fitting room to call someone (a male) to come search Tshepo . I couldn't have searched him because I am a female.

A male employee came but hesitated to search Tshepo and he asked that a manager is called to permit him to search Tshepo. A manager came and asked what happened. I told her what happened and even told her that the money in my purse was 5 R20s , 2 R50s and a R100, then she permitted the other male employee to search Tshepo. All my money (R300) was found in Tshepo's pocket (exactly the way I have described it).

I told the manager that I need to see Tshepo's manger. She apologizes as a Mr Price manager and took to me to Mr Price Home . She explained to Lerato (Mr Price Home manager) what has happened. I also told her what happened. She (Lerato) also apologized . We all went back to Mr Price Clothing to hear what Tshepo had to say. Tshepo said to Lerato (Manager) that he walked into the fitting room and found that the door was open and a purse was left there , so he thought of other things.

I told Lerato . I am taking this to Hello Peter ,she asked me not to take it there and let her handle the situation as a Manager. She took my Cell number and called me at 14:15 and asked me to write a statement and send it to the above mentioned email address.

The next thing , today I get a call from Lerato the Store manager telling me that they first have to go through the process of dealing with Tshepo (Who stole my money) then they will come back to me. I asked her to send what she was telling me on email. she refused.
