System offline

Wedding gift register I visited the Mr Price home in Montana to do a gift register for my daughter's kitchen tea and wedding. We were assisted at one of the till points. The gentleman told us to capture all the information while go fetched the scanners. After we completed all the information we had trouble submitting the information. One of the ladies told us that our request will not submit as the system was offline due to the banking strike. So my question is why did they not inform us that the system was offline? Why were we only informed after we captured all the information. They were not even apologetic and simply said that they were offline. We choose to do our girls register with Mr Price home because of the variety items that they stock...now I have to consider another shop.
