Never Purchase An Online Gift Voucher

I am really disappointed with the customer service and online experience received at Mr Price Home. It is shocking and outrageous.

I purchased a gift voucher online on the 2nd of August 2020 at 19:00 for my friend who got married and he did not receive it. I contact Mr Price Home customer care via WhatsApp on the 3rd of August 2020 to find out what could be the delay. The call center agent tells me it takes 24 hours for it to process. I am really shocked as this should have been a seamless process.

Ok, that is fine. I call my friend on the 4th of August 2020 to check if he has received the voucher, and guess what, NOTHING!!!

I called customer care to find out what could be the problem now. The call centre agent says the email was sent but my friend has not received it. The call centre agent decides to give me the voucher number and tells me it can be used to purchase online or in-store.

I send my friend the voucher number to go make a purchase. He gets to the store and they tell him that he needs a unique number to be able to use the voucher.

Firstly of all, your system is faulty and unreliable that my friend did not receive the email with the gift voucher. I personally tested to send him an email if he does receive them with the email address included in the purchase, and guess what, he receives emails.

Secondly, why didn't the call centre inform me that to you use the voucher, a unique reference is required for purchase.

Thirdly, when my friend asks for service in-store, they couldn't assist him saying I should call again for the unique reference number.

I called customer care AGAIN on the 4th of August 2020 at 17:00 with no avail as their business hours is between 08:00 - 18:00. Really now? But it is 17:00 and I am within the time frame.

Never ever will I purchase online with Mr Price Home. Absolute disappointment!
