MR. Price Home Stoneridge No Customer Service

I purchased an office Chair from Mr. Price Home in January for R2200. The wheels on the chair were defective and when we went to the store in March to exchange the chair we were told that they could not do any exchanges on non essential items due to the lock down. The chair ended up in my garage and when we returned today with the chair, we hadn't noticed that it had some marks on the back rest. The furniture manager initially said to me that since I had lost the proof of purchase I needed to provide a bank statement. I managed to find the purchase on my bank statement and he then checked on the system that he was unable to retrieve the slip as they changed to a new system. He then inspected the chair and told me that they cannot refund or return the chair as it was damaged and it can't be resold despite the defective wheels. I requested to see the store manager who was equally disinterested, as the store was full of customers. She told me that they can fix the wheels but can't return the chair, so I asked her how she would of sold a used chair if the marks were not there, as the policy on furniture is a one year guarantee. She was unable to answer, but left me standing there with a set of used wheels from the sample chair.

I had gone into the store to purchase curtain rails, but after that pathetic customer service I left with a defective chair and not a single cent more spent at Mr. PRICE!!! Well done, another unhappy customer.
