Life Damaging

Sometime June last year(2016) I personally called into Mr Price hoping to make a payment arrangement of some sort. As I was due to go on Maternity leave in July and seeing that the company I work for does not payout for maternity leave, and knowing that I would not be able to make the full monthly instalments. I was turned away and informed that no arrangements could be made as my account was not in arrears(which is what I wanted to avoid) so that it doesn't affect my credit. I thought somehow, something could have been done as I have always been a good and loyal customer and my record showed for it.

Never the less, the lady on the other line said I couldn't( though I found that silly) I left it at that.

As of July 2016, I received the first call. I explained the situation and what I had tried to do previously and then arranged for a lessor amount. Though promising to certainly pay more when I could during the 6 months I was on maternity leave.

Every month I received a call. Every month I explained my situation. Not one month had I missed a payment, yes I short paid for 5 months out of the 6 months I was on maternity leave. And each time I explained the situation I was in. I mean it wasn't like I was running away(check my records). I informed them each time that as soon as I was back at work I would catch up and pay it up. And that is what I have been doing.

About 3 months ago, I recall a lady(from MRP collections) aftwr questioning her, she then informed me that my account is blocked due to the account being in arrears. When I requested for a breakdown of the arrears amount, they couldn't provide me with this information. She called her supervisor (who was totally unhelpful) who too couldn't provide me with the information I needed. I needed a breakdown for why my account was blocked?

What dis my arrears amount to for the 5 months I short paid (keep in mind that there were no missed payments as I arranged for a lessor amount) when I was on my 6 month maternity leave. They couldn't give me an answer instead proceeded to give me the full outstanding amount.

Now I am not upset about the outstanding amount of the account I need to pay. I mean that's what I spent and need to pay up and obviously what my instalments are based on. What I am furious about is that not only did they now block my account, I found out last week when I went into the bank that I have been blocked at the ITC. ***!!!

When I went into the MRP Home store one of the lady's called their accounts department, and they advised that they cannot help me and that I need to call the lawyers who are dealing with this account as the status has been marked status 6. Status 6 being the worst!!

I am furious because not once had I missed one month. And the months when I returned back to work I paid more than double the instalment a d amount they gave me each month to catch up as I promised. I am furious because each time I received a call I explained my situation over and over but not one cared enough to assist me as a customer. I am furious because not only have I received terrible customer service you have now played with my life!! You marked MY NAME with a status 6 for NO reason (let alone communicated any of it to me).

I am beyond furious with how YOUR negligence is damaging my name, my credit record, my life and my kids life!!

Do your god damn jobs!!

I have kept record of every payment I made for ALL the months, and yes I may have been a short payer for 5 months last year(with good ******* reason) but in no way in hell could you have legally obtained my account and damaged my credit for 5 months where I had short paid.

I am not leaving things as it is because some employee had a bad day and took it out on ME.

Someone needs to retract and fix this asap!
