Door to door? Not always

Like many people, over the course of the pandemic I am making more online purchases than usual.

I have had great experiences from the couriers from Woolworth, Takealot, and a number of smaller retailers.

They ring from the entrance gate and I let them in. They’re all very happy to come up to our floor and to leave the parcel outside our door. They always give me a smile and wave.

I have also placed a good few orders with Mr. Price. However, even though I have paid for door to door delivery many of the couriers for Mr Price say that they’re not allowed to come inside and that I must go downstairs to fetch my delivery. I’ve done so a number of times as has my husband..

There seems to be a correlation between the weight and size of the parcels and the courier’s reluctance to bring them up to my flat.

I have twice written to Mr Home to ask for clarification on their delivery policy. Some couriers are happy to bring parcels to our door and some don’t.

I have not received a reply to either of them.

I would like to know why some couriers are quite happy to bring parcels to my door and why others are not allowed to.
