I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Mr Mattress
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Mr Mattress. I ordered and paid R6,299.00 in full for a mattress on 16 September. Before purchasing, I specifically explained that I was only in the area for a limited time and needed the mattress before returning home. I was promised delivery on 25 September. This promise was important and influenced my decision to go ahead with the purchase. After numerous back-and-forth calls, I was finally informed that the mattress would only be delivered on Monday, 28 September. The problem was that I had to leave for home on Sunday, 27 September. I could not simply extend my stay because I did not have additional leave available. My circumstances and deadline were made clear BEFORE I paid for the mattress. Had I been told from the beginning that delivery by 25 September could not be guaranteed, I could have bought a mattress elsewhere. Instead, I paid R6,299 based partly on a delivery promise made by the oner,Andries himself.

Let me be clear about where the responsibility sits. We chose the courier for your route. They took three days on a one day leg. Our choice, our failure, our problem to fix. A customer should never be told to take it up with a transport company.
We build every mattress ourselves and we are good at it. Getting them into rural and outlying areas was where we were depending on partners who were not operating at our standard. That has now been dealt with. We have changed the courier partners on those routes and reset our delivery timeframes to what can genuinely be guaranteed. Hard deadline from a customer now means the transport leg gets confirmed before we accept the order.
Your order is the reason that review happened, and I would rather have the criticism than keep the problem.
