Violation of POPI act - Courier company with FNB
FNB without my approval requested MR Delivery as their courier company to deliver my credit card.
I received numerous sms and calls from Mr Delivery requesting i provide them with my ID number my residence, in order for them to deliver my credit card with FNB. I would have to provide their driver with a copy of my ID and proof of residence. A) a company i do not work with and, B) a company i never gave approval to receive my personal information, C) a company which is requesting i provide all my personal data too.
There is no wonder there is identity theft and ***** in this country.
I requested for this matter to be escalated to management on the 18/11/2015 as they clearly need to update their internal processes in accordance to the POPI act. I got told this is how they do business. I was not happy with the responses and the fact that 1000 of peoples personal information to fall into the wrong hands. I requested the team leader to kindly escalate my concern and have management revert back to me. Still waiting, clearly client safety and security regarding data is off no concern to Mr Delivery, which leads me to my perception that they should rather stick to delivering food.
