Mr D Ignores Full Refund Request and Issues Unexplained 50% Wallet Credit
On 14 October 2026, I placed an order worth R938.50 for food from Hennies Mossel Bay through Mr D to celebrate my 50th birthday and my daughter's 28th birthday. Unfortunately, the food was extremely disappointing. Several items were excessively hard and dry, portions appeared significantly different from the advertised meals, and the overall quality was unacceptable. I submitted a detailed formal complaint to Mr D, including photographs comparing the advertised food with what was actually delivered, receipts and supporting documentation. I specifically requested a full refund of the R938.50 food value, excluding the R46.93 driver's tip. I made it clear that the driver was professional and not responsible for the restaurant's food preparation. Mr D's response was deeply disappointing. Instead of properly addressing my complaint, they credited my Mr D wallet with R469.25 — exactly half the food order value — without explaining why only 50% was approved. They also offered a R20 promotional coupon, despite my explicitly stating that I did not want promotional vouchers or discounts in place of a proper refund. The original food purchase was funded by a R500 birthday gift voucher and R438.50 paid by bank card. I requested a proper refund through my original payment arrangements, not credit requiring another purchase. Although Mr D indicates that certain wallet credits can be withdrawn, they have not explained how they calculated or allocated this partial refund. I am asking Mr D to: 1. Explain why only 50% of the food value was refunded. 2. Resolve the outstanding R469.25 refund dispute. 3. Return the refundable bank-card portion to my original payment account and properly restore or reimburse the gift voucher value. 4. Confirm that the R46.93 driver's tip remains untouched. 5. Confirm that Hennies management has received and investigated my complaint. My complaint is not about the delivery driver. It is about the food supplied by Hennies and Mr D's inadequate handling of my subsequent refund request. I expect a proper investigation, a clear written explanation and a fair resolution — not another generic response or promotional coupon.

Review of a driver
Ohhhh the worst service ever and the driver almost wanted to beat me up for asking him why his refusing to come to my building as i had to walk about 5 mins to get to him. He was busy sitting and even the security guard was saying he refused to go inside the building and was very rude at him. Im disgusted as this is not the first time its happening as i even stated on my order that he should come to second floor and i will be by the lift. I cannot pay for service and get this kind of service no mahn!! I even took a video of him and you would how rude and agressive he was. Why pay for delivery if i have to walk and fight to get my food just becuase he doesnt feel like wallking. To be honest i have not had issues with South African drivers but with some foreign nationals i always get this serive.

Horrible
I would never use Mr D ever again! I'm going to encourage those around me to stop using this useless app. Paying separately for delivery is fine. Paying for a service fee is also fine. But why the heck must we pay R15 more on the item price. The prices are sky high. What would cost me R40 at kfc for example, I would pay R60 excluding delivery. Yesterday I order a milkshake and fries... I ordered a larger portion only to realize half the box was only filled. Are the drivers helping themselves to our food or do they just plan on robbing customers ordering through Mr D. This is not over. I will further take this to social media. We need to get rid off Mr D
