Order never delivered but paid for

I placed an order from somewhere on the other side of town, I have a cold and didn't feel up to cooking, so got a xl pizza and hot chips. Paid online by card. The order was collected but 4 minutes later the site says the driver has arrived, literally impossible its at least a 10min drive, but the GPS tells me the driver is nowhere near the delivery point? So I think OK maybe the site is being a ****, let me phone (driver chat function was funnily enough not available.) I am literally standing outside my home while on the phone with customer service, saying their system says he sent a message saying he's there. I'm saying, he's not, but let me walk around the building juuust in case. CS dude is like OK he's going to also phone driver management and phone me back, we'll figure this out. OK fair 👍... Walk around, definitely nobody. Not even across the road. Wait 10min longer, no phone call, so I phone back. CS says again, no but he's there, maybe he's in the building. Impossible, you need to be buzzed in, also I'm waiting outside the whole time. Take another look around, just in case, nope nobody 100%. OK they'll get back to me. Again, 10min and NOTHING. I then get a message on the site saying delivery failed. I call back, WHAT IN THE HECK? No the driver waited for 40min then left because nobody was home. I was OUTSIDE. I confirmed address, everything, so where was the driver waiting?! No they can't talk to him themselves so they don't know. OK what can we do here? Oh, because it's my fault, I can maybe get 50% reimbur*****t. Um no, full immediate reimbur*****t or my food please? No they can't do that. OK tell me what happened maybe. No the driver waited and I wasn't there. Sorry that's not true, what actually happened. I get a sorry but that's all they can do. Alright where is my order then? Driver policy is it gets returned to the restaurant. Fine, I'll collect it myself. Call restaurant. Nope, they never returned the order. (restaurant was wonderful and placed a new order for me, delivered quick and with the nicest driver) - as yet no further response from Mr D. I'm livid. Also on phone call #3 lady says she can't contact driver management, was she being unhelpful or was guy on phone call #1 lying?
