MrD refusing to refund me, ********* drivers

May 31, 2021, 19:15 My order wasn’t delivered but I didn’t get a credit refund. This is the response from MrD consultants:

Hi Phindile

Thanks so much for the feedback on your latest order and for giving us the opportunity to further investigate.

It seems that the driver was not able to get hold of you at the delivery address at 18:35 and cancelled the order at 19:00.

Unfortunately we are unable to refund you for the order as the store still needs to be paid for the preparation of the food.

Please be advised that once the customer confirms an order, they are responsible to be at the delivery address at the expected time of arrival. This is stipulated in the Mr D Food Terms and Conditions Part A "7 Section 9 https://www.mrdfood.com/terms#8.

In return I wrote to them:

Hi, we had load shedding at 180:0-20:00 so the network got affected, I could not receive or make calls during that time. However; I made sure that the order Did not only have the address but I also provided the Pin for the gate, exact complex number and block number So that he can sign in and bring the food.

The PIN hasn’t been used which means he didn’t even attempt getting in & looking for me. My phone doesn’t show any records of missed calls. The App doesn’t show any traces of attempted communication. Because of the reasons I have stated, your driver did not even attempt getting into the complex. It’s common knowledge that during load shedding the network gets impacted and I cannot be expected to wait @ the gate, in the dark as a woman to receive an order that had clear instructions. I was reasonable enough in my order to provide the driver with as much details as possible To make it easy for him to come in.

So please look into this as I believe your driver and the store don’t have any grounds not to refund me. Unless I have proof that he used the pin I sent him & tried contacting me then I’m not accepting the below response.

No response was received and I followed up the next but I was meet with the same copy and pasted response.
