Mr Delivery rude driver

Kindly note I logged a complained regarding a driver who was rude and throwed insult at me and insulting my late mother. This happened on the 17th November 2024. Whilst company is still investigating they called today 21st with feedback saying:

she complained saying I was rude to her, however this below is what happened on the day. Before I explain:

I do not believe in a theory of “customer is always right even if they are on the wrong”. I believe in the truth and what is right. I have used Mr D for quick sometime, I have been assisted by both male and female drivers and have never had an issue with them. I can not insult or use fowl language to someone who is here to deliver goods I ordered and paid for. I can not be rude to someone whom I was trying to get hold of me and delivering my goods. I can not be rude to someone for my faults or problems whilst they were trying to get hold of me. Previous day we had an issue as a family where we were missing a child hence, I forgot my paid order because when the lady driver came, I was in a conversation with one of the family member discussing the missing child.( I was not in a state where I have capabilities to be rude to anyone.) When she asked me if I knew Busisiwe, I was really upsent minded to what I was discussing with the family member hence I sent lady driver to the main house since I was in the outside room not realizing that she was there for me. She asked in the main house and was told that they do not know Busisiwe. I do not blame them either as I have explained we had an issue of a missing child. Surely, they were also absent minded because they suddenly didn’t know me. After the family member left, I received missed call messages, that when I checked my phone to check who called only to realize that it’s 2 missed calls from Mr D. Immediately called back the number spoke to the lady driver, 1st I apologized for missing their calls and asked if they were the same person who came and asked for me. I the apologized for when they came and asked me if I know Busisiwe (the driver said funny remarks whilst on the call to their passenger (who works at the mall checkers employee) saying listen she realizes that I was there and asked her if she was Busisiwe. The she shouted saying wait outside for me. Then I said am already outside the gate. When she came by the gate apparently, she had another altercation with other people in the next street(not sure what it was about from witnesses it was regarding parking since there were a lot of cars parked there. Allegedly she was throwing insults there. At the gate I went straight to the passenger window and said to her I did not appreciate the silly remarks she made whilst she was on a call with me and the shouting on the call. She asked me by saying I did I speak to you, the explain with an attitude and shouting “STAND OUTSIDE THEN” When she was at the gate, she immediately responded with an attitude saying I have other orders I need to delivery, how can you forget that you made an order. I responded by saying am only Human hence I forgot my paid order. She went on saying “JUST TAKE YOUR PARCELS” I opened back seat; she then went out of the car shouting “DO NOT OPEN MY DOOR LIKE THIS” I asked how did I open your door? Then she rep**** shouting” JUST TAKE YOUR PARCELS” when she went outside the car this was before removing parcels from her car. I asked her for you to out of your car what exactly are you planning to do, I you preparing to beat me up? She said “JUST TAKKE YOUR PARCELS” TOOK MY PARCELS my sister-in-law was there, she witnessed everything from when she went out of the car saying to me Just leave her. Took my parcels, I did not close the car door because of she was not comfortable with me opening it. She then asked her passenger to pull the door from the inside and that when she started swearing then drove off. I rep**** by saying likewise (in vernac) she was already gone by then. I sent query because I was at fault for not acknowledging to the driver at the time of delivery that I was Busisiwe. I completely forgot because of reasons explain during the call and on this email. Like any other person who were to be in my situation would have probably done the same as I did (forget paid order). If only she was wearing uniform and mention the reason for her to look for Busisiwe this query would have been avoided. And only if she did listen to my apology whilst on the call this wouldn’t have happened, she was already upset by the fact that am the same person she asked if I knew Busisiwe on the spot and the altercation that happened prior when I called her to apologize for being absent minded. In my opinion she was trying to showoff at my expense to the passenger she was travelling with when she insulted me and not being polite. Either than that Investigation can be made I have witnesses since this happened in day light and the were people on the street witnessing all of this then they mentioned that a few minutes ago she was in an altercation with another driver where she parked on the other side to look for me.

Nobody in my opinion plans to be in a situation where they want to argue for things that can be resolved by mouth hence that is why when I came back to my senses (remembered) this is after receiving a missed call message. I called and apologized since I was on the wrong for not acknowledging that I was Busisiwe when asked upon delivery by the driver. If you can check my history since using MR D I have never had an issue of this nature where I will exchange words with a driver. I respect people in their line of duty and will give a tip when I have. I was not raised to be rude or disrespectful to others. The only complaint I might have logged with MR D is when my order arrived after the expected time (by this I mean 30 Minutes late and onwards and not being notified that my order will be later that the expected time) then I call the contact center. In this case I still say I was wrong the driver was on time when they were here to delivery, and I apologized for mistake of not acknowledging driver upon delivery. However, I am not going to accept the insults towards me, the shouting and rudeness I experienced on the day. My sister-in-law came outside only when the driver opened their door shouting to check what was the noise about. I went towards the driver so if she wants to beat me up, she can’t go ahead and do it whilst am close, but I was pulled by my sister-in-law then took my parcels without closing her car door. I was now scared that if I did, she will find another excuse for her actions, but I avoided that. I had no reason to be upset as I was on the wrong for not answering 2 missed calls and confirming my name to a stranger ( I was stressed by the issue of a missing child in the family). This issue did not lead me to a point of me being rude. If I was rude to driver, can they please explain at what stage and what did I do or say. Feedback will be appreciated.
