Mr Delivery made me call for armed response
I recently started using Mr Delivery for two reasons: I am an emergency nurse working long hours during this pandemic, and also because I am peripherally blind and cannot drive during and after sunset. I have a very straightforward address, and I always order from places close to me, places that I used to previously drive to myself, therefore they are not far. Twice now, your drivers have become verbally abusive to me because they call me to say they're outside my house and they are not there. This happens several times and I've even had to text them a location. It is a security hazard for me to keep opening my gate for no reason, and this happened at least four times with each driver. I have added it to my notes that my doorbell does not work so can the driver kindly call me. Yesterday, the driver became so verbally abusive to me after 7 phone calls and 2 messages showing my location clearly, that I was forced to call our security company to escort him in and off my property. When he gave me my order, he further tried to intimidate me by telling me if I report him, he will lose his job. I do not want anyone to lose their job, but I find it unacceptable to be verbally attacked when he could not find the house, and made me fear for my safety when I firstly had to open my gate unnecessarily 4 times and when he got abusive enough for me to require armed response assistance. The last time I brought this to the attention of Mr Delivery, I was given a R15 voucher. I'm sorry, but no voucher is going to actually make up for the trauma that my children and I went through last night for what should have been a very straightforward delivery. In future, I will not tip the drivers on the app, and tip them in cash once I receive my order.
